Knowing who you are doesn’t just happen. You aren’t just born and boom! Grounded in self. No. It takes work and it’s a gruelling painful process with highs, lows and everything in between, cuz you know what? Nothing in life just happens like that, everything is a process. What matters is what you choose to feed and engage in over the course of this process. What you feed thrives. Going through life not knowing who are are or what you stand for can take a significant toll on your confidence, and I think at this point in evolution we know how much of an impact confidence has on how we present ourselves to the world both on the inside and out. These things I’m about to share with you are things that have felt me feel more capable and confident, and I hope they help you as well. Let’s get into it.
Follow Your Passions.
At this point in evolution, someone needs what you have, all you need to do is make it available to then. Hobbies can grow into professions when cultivated properly.
Find something you can contribute to others and then go out and do it. There’s no more satisfying confidence boost than the one you get when you’ve changed or touched a life in a meaningful way.
Set A Physical Goal.
Our bodies are the temple of the Divine and thus, we should treat them with respect, but a lot of us don’t. When you look good, you feel good and when you feel good and look good, your confidence goes up. It’s a pleasure cycle. It’s a no brainer.
Find Your Tribe.
Being part of a group or team where you feel needed, heard and understood is priceless. You get to interact with like-minded individuals and build interdependence and capabilities. Capability = Confidence.
Do What You Want.
The truth is when it boils down to the barest minimum, nobody cares what you do, it’s your life after all. So take away the pressure you’re putting on yourself or that your society, Community or family are putting on you and do whatever the fuck it is you want to do. Get your curiosity back! It allows you freedom to take risks that most aren’t comfortable taking and that are unique to your own experience. You can’t hang your confidence and self-esteem on any one thing. Forget what everyone thinks and do what works for you.
Seriously, try these things out and let me know in the comments section below the ways you practice confidence building. Until next time.
Yours truly, Chalya.
